After the good weekend, i’ve been playing with the next issues i had in mind. First of all, the Zope plugin ‘CPSSkins’, which is every day easy to use, and that perhaps will be shown on the next class to CICODE-GCUBO users. lgs told me that it could be a bad idea to teach this tool to the students, cause it is too much difficult for them.
What do you think?
On the other hand, i wrote an e-mail to one of ILIAS main developers, Stephan Meyer, to talk about new SOAP interface of the e-learning platform. He answered me ASAP and in a few minutes i made a little tutorial about accesing ILIAS from C#. HERE are the instructions and source code to get started. I still had some problems getting the user data SOAP structure, but it’s on the way! I will be merging it with GtkILIASMon by the next days.
Finally, i used the famous vnc2swf, recordwin and swfdump to capture the process of importing Openoffice documents into ILIAS, but i used a Microsoft Word doc to do it. No problem at all. I will do it again and update this entry to show you the video, right now it filled too many bytes and time. It should be optimized 🙂
I had to read an article for my english class today call “The mind Machine”. Look what it said about Cooking (remember the free software example?):
Cooking is a good all-round mental exercise. It needs mathematical, organisational and scientific skills as well as challenging memory and creative ability. Use recipes at first and then learn to guess amounts, combinations, reactions of ingredients and timing.
I absolutely agree 😀
